How to get started with content filtering

clearosContent filtering allows you to control the internet experience for your staff and students.  This article describes the process of the initial setup.


Content Filtering setup

  1. First log on to your ClearOS server with an administrator account.
  2. You will need to install the following software modules
    1. Web Proxy
    2. Content Filtering
  3. Go to Gateway > Proxy and Filtering > Web Proxy.
    1. Click Start to start the service.
    2. Click To Auto to automatically start the service next time your server is rebooted.
    3. Enable Transparent mode and click Update.
  4. Go to Gateway > Proxy and Filtering > Content Filtering.
    1. Click Start to start the service.
    2. Click To Auto to automatically start the service next time your server is rebooted.
  5. Go to Gateway > Proxy and Filtering > Web Proxy.
    1. Enable Content Filtering and click Update.
  6. Your content filter is now up and running.
